This is even more important in winter, as the skin is more prone to dryness.
Top tips in achieving polished and flawless base makeup
Keep it light
To avoid the cakey look, use a sheer foundation or tinted moisturiser. An] alternative is to use a wet brush or sponge with a fuller coverage foundation to sheer it out or mix it with a moisturiser. Most people don’t need full coverage on their entire face for every-day [makeup for events and photography is an entirely different matter]. In fact, full coverage all-over often knocks the dimension from you face leaving it looking flat.
Conceal where needed
Once, you have evened out your skin tone with a layer of foundation you can see the where you need concealer. Common areas are the under the eyes, the chin and around the nose and anywhere you may have a stray spot or two.
Keep the layers thin
This is the most important thing to consider when aiming for a natural, flawless look. Therefore, be sparing with the amount of product you use and only use what is needed. One area to be especially careful with is the under eye. Too much product means it is more likely to sink into fine lines leading to a dull, tired appearance- the opposite of what you are trying to achieve. If your regular concealer isn’t doing the trick, try a peach toned concealer which will counterbalance the blue in under-eye circles.
